#27/2019 Round of 16 race for Groups D, E and F explained
With six points each, the top two teams in Groups D, E and F have already confirmed their qualification for the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 Knockout Stage, but with all teams still in contention, the final round of group matches promises to set the stage for some epic battles.
The AFC presents the possible qualification scenarios based on results in the forthcoming Matchday Three fixtures.
GROUP D
Already-qualified Iraq and Islamic Republic of Iran, both on six points, will play for the chance to be group winners on January 16 in Dubai, while Vietnam or Yemen could still reach the Round of 16 as one of the four highest-ranked third-placed teams in a thrilling contest in Al Ain on the same day at 8:00pm (local time).

GROUP E
Two wins from two matches mean Saudi Arabia and Qatar are safely through to the Knockout Stage, but their meeting on January 17 in Abu Dhabi will decide who wins Group E, while Lebanon and DPR Korea will aim to keep their hopes alive at the Sharjah Stadium at 8:00pm (local time).

GROUP F
Winless Turkmenistan and Oman will play in the hope of claiming one of the four Round of 16 places available to the highest-ranked third-place teams on January 17 in Abu Dhabi. While Japan and Uzbekistan have already qualified, the battle for pole position remains up for grabs when the sides meet on the same day in Al Ain at 5:30pm (local time).
