WOMEN's UAE NATIONAL TEAMS GIVE SUPPORT TO AFC's
 'IT'S MY GAME' INITIATIVE

'Give yourself a chance' was the inspiring message given to women of all ages as they were joined by the United Arab Emirates' women's national teams for the latest AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 'It's My Game' event.

The event, which took place at the UAE FA Headquarters in Dubai, began with a panel discussion focused on sports' leadership followed by a friendly match that enabled women to play with, and against members of the UAE women's national teams.

The panel was made up of Sara Ali Al Sayegh, Director of Marketing and Communications at Dubai Sports Council, Anita Mehra, Executive Vice President of Communication and Reputation at Dubai Airports, Professor Kamilla Swart, Master in Sport Management Programme Director at American University in the Emirates, and Reeva Bains, a Sports Marketing consultant.

Sara Ali Al Sayegh, said: "Seeing so many enthusiastic women at this session shows that there is a growing interest in women's sport. It is up to us all to support each other and help turn this interest into participation."

The panel also discussed opportunities to encourage women to take up sports and how the power of sport can positively contribute to a nation's image, as the UAE prepares to host its largest sports event, the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019, in January next year.

The It's My Game session was the third of four events which aim to inspire women to get involved with sport. Women across the UAE can get involved with the It's My Game initiative by registering online at www.afcitsmygame.com.

The fourth and final It's My Game event will take place in Sharjah and women interested in attending can register online at the above link.
