Cycling

Indonesia is an archipelago consisting of (some say) 18,000 islands. A crumpled terrain of peaks and valleys – in Papua there are mountains so high they’re snowcapped year-round – and in most other parts of Indonesia volcanoes dominate the skyline. They dot down the western coast of Sumatra, continue through JavaBali and Nusa Tenggara, and then loop around through Maluku to Sulawesi.

Cycling in Indonesia

Remember the basics of how you learned to ride a bicycle ? It is by riding it, keep it straight, and keep pedaling. The same goes for cycling in Indonesia. Once you start pedaling and get the hang of it, you know it’s safe to ride and explore Indonesia by bicycle. You’ll realize how much you could have missed if you only explore this country by sitting in a car or a bus. This is a new way to discover Indonesia.

Trips, Tours, What We Do

There are many cycling day-trips offered in popular tourist destinations in Indonesia. There are also many physically challenging cycling tours nowadays in Indonesia: gran fondostriathlonsTour de BintanTour de Singkarak, and so many other tours de you-name-it.
With us, you ride everywhere, through main roads or back roads, past ricefields, villages, mountains, in towns and cities, inter cities, and even inter islands. You decide your own tempo, speed, and distance. You decide when and where to stop, when to start, or when to quit. Our team (marshall and mechanic) will guide and follow you anywhere, along with your luggage(s) and a support vehicle with spare bikes. We may stop anywhere for rest, tea-coffee-snacks, picnic lunch, and even camping for overnight in tent.
“Cycling is the best way to see a place. When you bike, you travel at a leisurely pace and you get to really feel, smell and see the people and the environment”. – Christa Baer, 65 years old, cycled 10,000km from her home in Switzerland to Malaysia.
